Day 1

The Honjo park, which is a castle ruins park is known as the place where approximately 1200 Sakura trees and 12000 Azaleas blooms. There are hot springs and resting areas found within the park and even from there, you can enjoy the flowery scenery. Best time to view: Mid-April to late April


A place in Akita prefecture where the Sakura blooms first. During summer, the sakura around the lagoon blooms against the view of Mt. Chokai in summer. This is a scenery you can only enjoy at the northern province. Best time to view: Mid-April to late April


There are gigantic and deformed trees scattered within the forest found at the base of Mt. Chokai. After a two and a half hour walk through a certain patch of the forest, you will see the "Great King". This "king", whose trunk measures at 7.62 measures is said to be more than 300 years old.


A waterfall with fifty thousand tons of spring water flowing daily from the rain and snow that seeped into Mt. Chokai. The natural beauty created by the combination of the white, thread-like waterflow and the green moss is truly a picturesque scenery.


The Chokai Onsen is characterized by its dark brown hot spring water with outstanding moisturizing qualities. Stay at Yurari, highly reputed for its excellent seafood. Apon Nishihama, bathing facilities for day visitors, is also located adjacent to the hotel.


Day 2

The view of the sakura trees lined up on the riverbank is a sight to behold, and is a frequent subject of photo and movie shoots. As you look at the river flow downstream, you can witness the contrast between the snow that remains in Mt. Chokai and the sakura trees. Best time to visit: Mid-April to late April


The park has the ruins of a castle within it, with moats, stone walls, and old cedars that provide an atmosphere befitting the novels and movies that used it as a stage. The park is home to 730 Sakura trees. Best time to visit: Mid-April to late April


A roadside restaurant and shopping establishment where you can relish on local foods in the restaurant, soba restaurant, and BBQ house, and buy local agricultural and marine products.


Day 3

The 60-m-deep V-shaped ravine. With walking trails, the site is a popular tourist destination for them to enjoy a stroll. You can enjoy the flaming red and yellow leaves in autumn.


Time-honored manufacturer of Inaniwa udon noodles, ranked as one of the three best udon in Japan. You can relish on udon with a smooth, firm texture, and find good souvenirs as well.


There is an observation deck constructed with an old castle as the motif. You can view the sakura with a Japanese-style castle as the background. Shops serving Yokote's gourmet "Yokote Yakisoba" can be found within the area. Best time to view: Mid-April to late April


Locally produced agricultural goods, specialty sake, soy sauce and the like are sold here. And Akita's special "Iburi Gakko" snack is also sold as well. It's known that this was the site of a great battle according to Japan's history.
